Home Installations
Most home EV charger installations are completed within half a day. We carry out a free survey beforehand to check your electrical capacity, assess the best charger location, and confirm the cable run from your consumer unit. Every home installation includes a surge protection device as standard, NICEIC certification, and a 3-year warranty. Typical costs for a standard 7kW home EV charger installation range from £750 to £1,200.
Commercial & Workplace Installations
We install multi-point EV charging setups for car parks, offices, retail sites, and fleet depots across the North West. We handle load management assessments, electrical capacity surveys, and future-proofing so your charging infrastructure scales as demand grows. Every charging point is individually certified and covered by our 3-year warranty.

Save up to £500 with an OZEV grant
Renters, flat owners, landlords, and businesses may be eligible for a government grant of up to £500 towards installation. As an OZEV-authorised installer, we handle the process end to end.
EV charger installation — your questions answered
A few of the questions we get asked most often about home EV charger installation. If yours isn't here, just give us a call — we're happy to help.
Do I need permission to install an EV charger at home?
In most cases, no — a standard home EV charger installation doesn't require planning permission as long as it meets certain conditions, like not being on a listed building or facing a highway. We'll check during your free survey and let you know if anything applies to your property.
Can I charge my electric car from a normal 3-pin plug?
You can, but it's very slow — a 3-pin plug typically delivers around 2.3kW, which means a full charge can take over 24 hours. A dedicated 7kW home charger reduces that to 4–6 hours and is much safer for regular use, with proper circuit protection and surge protection built in.
What's the difference between a tethered and untethered charger?
A tethered charger has the cable permanently attached — you just grab it and plug in. An untethered charger has a socket, so you use your own cable. Tethered is more convenient at home; untethered gives you flexibility if you have multiple vehicles with different connectors. We install both types.
How do I know which EV charger is right for my car?
Almost all modern EVs and plug-in hybrids in the UK use a Type 2 connector, so any of the chargers we install will work. The choice comes down to features and budget — whether you want smart tariff integration, solar compatibility, or a more affordable straightforward unit. We'll recommend the best fit during your survey.
Do you install EV chargers on rented properties?
Yes — we install chargers on rented properties with the landlord's permission. The installation is the same as any other home install. If you're a landlord looking to add chargers to a rental property, we can advise on the best setup.
